The Royers, John and Leatrice, live in Hancock County and are Charter Members of the Brandywine Cruisers. They participate in all the activities of the club, hosting the annual Cruisers Halloween roast at their place in the woodsey part of Hancock County - somtimes including a hayride. Their cars are "drivers" and look good, too!

1955 Chevy 2-Door Post – John Royer - The pride and joy of Brandywine Cruiser John Royer, this black beauty has been in the Royer garage for about 18 years – John being the third owner of the car. With 69,000 original miles it “drives like a new car”. Starting life as a light green on green 150 powered by a trusty “6” banger and “three on the tree”, it now gets along with a Mouse 350 and four-speed tranny. Nearly all restoration work ws done by the previous owner who was into the drag racing theme. John has added his own touches to make it a little more “show” but with lots of “go”. In keeping with Kroozing a more “driven friendly” set of gears may be in the works. Per John, “it’s definitely a keeper!!”

1947 Chevrolet Business Coupe – John Royer – Owned by John for at least seven years, this “vintage mouse” 283 4bbl automatic is yet another member of the family that fights for a parking place and the Royer’s attention. You may have noted that “cruising” and “driving” are key words to the Royermobile vehicular story! There are about six “project” cars and truck that John hopes to complete before he “leaves this world” (John’s words, of course!).

1955 T-Bird – Leatrice Royer – This specimen of one of Fords “Finest” is number 461 built in Dearborn, MI on March 28th, 1955. With the top down, Leatrice and husband John Royer do looooook good! This IS a cruiser, for sure!

1964 Thunderbird – John Royer – According to John, this “Big Bird” is “nothing special – just a good old boulevard cruiser”. And cruise it does with its hefty 390-ci engine and automatic – and a convertible at that!!! Ya just gotta love those ol’ “nothing special cruisers – complete with bugs and some dirt!

1962 Studebaker GT Hawk – John Royer – This rare machine is actually a rare and very fine old Muscle Car of ledgendary Indiana historic significance. Still powered by the original Studebaker 289 ci V-8 feeding from a 4bbl it is a great example of Indiana automotive heritage. The 4-speed and posi-traction sure don’t hurt either. Owned by John Royer for about 15 years, it is a “family member” for sure!
